Fashion for a Cure

ChAngel Aidan recently debuted young girls’ summer looks to over 100 guests at her charity Fawn Fashion “Garden Party” show.  The afternoon featured a surprise give-away, a raffle and a silent auction in a private garden in Atherton.  Highly popular was a photo booth where blush colored scarves, sun hats and monocles let everyone feel like a fashion icon.

This is the second show Aidan has organized, working for months to secure vendors who supplied everything from the clothes to antique furniture pro bono while generous discounts were offered by local bakeries, florists and merchants. Finding the her models was easy as family and friends lined up to walk the runway and a crew of teens, including several ChAngels, volunteered to make the afternoon a success.

Producing an impactful afternoon goes way beyond fashion for Aidan.  When her brother was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes, she decided that her shows would benefit JDRF, the Type 1 Diabetes Research Foundation.  In her Garden Party remarks Aidan said, “Every hour of every day—whether he’s eating, taking an exam, goofing around with friends or playing soccer—Will has to consider his blood glucose levels.”  Frustrated at his daily burden, she decided to support JDRF, the global front-runner in finding a cure for T1D.

Her efforts were rewarded - an astounding $11,000 was raised for a cure - and an amazing afternoon was had by everyone!
